Department of short-course chemotherapy
The Department of Short-Course Chemotherapy of the N.N. Petrov National Medical Research Center of Oncology offers conventional and high-technology systemic pharmacological anti-tumor treatment of patients with solid tumors of various stages.
The Department treats patients with malignant tumors of various sites:
- esophageal cancer
- colorectal cancer
- stomach cancer
- lung cancer (small-cell lung cancer and non-small cells lung cancer)
- breast cancer
- ovarian cancer
- endometrial cancer
- cervical cancer
- etc.
Treatment modalities
- Chemotherapy, including multiagent chemotherapy, continuous infusion of cytostatic agents using infusion pumps
- Targeted therapy
- Photodynamic therapy
The Department offers opportunities for dissertation research, with three qualifying research papers published:
- Role of continuity of systemic treatment and rehabilitation of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer in elderly and senile age;
- Role of nutritional homeostasis in treatment of patients with regional stomach cancer;
- Role of molecular and biological tumor markers in assessment of expected response to and improvement of systemic treatment of metastatic colon and rectal cancer.
